Simple Grid System for Transferring Drawings<\/strong><\/p>\n

Create a grid on tracing paper, with the same amount of square inches as the thumbnail (scaled up X \u00a0#). If your grid has 1″\/1″ squares — the larger one should be at least 4X larger \u00a0– so it would be 4″\/4″ per square.<\/p>\n

Say you want to scale up a little cartoon. Put a small overlay of TRACING PAPER over the drawing — then create a grid TO SCALE. Name each both with A, B, C, D, E. etc — for the horizon, and 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. for the Vertical axis.<\/p>\n

Follow each grid as it appears in line, to find exactly how it appears in the composition. Note the Key used.<\/p>\n

When finished, you can either transfer the drawing by using the graphite method we discuss in class, or simply making light marks on the surface where each square exists, then filling in the grid without tracing paper.<\/p>\n
